John Smith - Employee Spotlight September 2023

Our Employee Spotlight for the month of September shines on John Smith, our Road & Shop Service Technician for Bobcat of Frederick. John works on all our Bobcat equipment from doing annual services to troubleshooting customer issues and solving them. He has been in the industry for 11 years and with us for 5 years since Bobcat of Frederick joined the Crownstone Equipment umbrella. Since then, he has completed a Platinum certification in 1–8-ton excavators, skid steer loaders, and R-Series loaders. 

John has two kids in 4-H so most of his time from March-September is spent working with the kids to get the animals ready for shows and showing them how to be successful in the show ring. He spends a lot of his time hunting and camping with family and friends! Since he was a kid, he has wanted a Rottweiler for a dog, but his wife got the final say so they have 2 Chihuahuas as their family dogs. 

He considers his biggest mentor in life and career to be his father, who has run a business for 41 years all while working on trucks, cars, sandblasting, and painting farm tractors. John's favorite part about the job is being out on the road fixing equipment for customers and getting to meet all our new customers. One thing he has learned is to be an all-around person, do your best at the job, and help others whenever needed. 

We appreciate John's commitment to his job and all the hard work he puts in every day. Without service techs like him, we wouldn't be able to serve our customers the way they need. That is why we're proud to shine a spotlight on him this month, thank you for everything you do!
