Richard Grey - Employee Spotlight May 2023

May’s Employee Spotlight shines on Richard Grey, our technician at Crownstone Outdoor Power in Manassas, VA. He is in charge of maintaining and repairing customers’ units and prepping new units to be sold. Starting in 1992 at a landscape company, he brought his talent to our team in April 1996. 

Richard has been repairing lawnmowers with his Grandpa since he was 8, and has completed Kohler Expert, Honda Master Tech, Stihl Gold, and certifications in Kawasaki, Briggs, Stratton, and Toro since then. When he’s not at work you can find him playing softball four times a week and bowling. In 2006 he traveled to Jamaica with Stihl as they hosted dealers across the country, and says that is his favorite memory. 

In his career and life his Grandfather was his biggest mentor and credits his old boss William Holliman for taking over that role when his Grandfather passed away. 

Richard’s favorite part of the job is getting the chance to help coworkers and customers on how to take care of the machines. Every day brings something new as the industry changes keeping Richard engaged and willing to learn something new. Thank you for all your hard work!
